Darya Kapulina became Of Counsel to Farber Balsam Papain Ferrari LLP in February 2022, bringing 15 years legal expertise in commercial litigation, complex corporate transactions, corporate governance, intellectual property law, dispute resolution, labor and employment, securities law, real estate law, and judgment enforcement, among other fields.
Darya represents inventors and start-ups, LLCs, partnerships, corporations, and public companies across industries spanning software and technology, medical, construction, acquisitions and restructuring, finance and investment, transportation, retail, media and entertainment, franchising, and food and hospitality in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
Darya has extensive experience with corporate matters, complex commercial litigation, and intellectual property at prestigious New York City firms. She has litigated matters before the U.S. Supreme Court, Courts of Appeal for the Second Circuit and Federal Circuit, and Federal District and State Courts in NY, NJ, CT, VA, FL, CA, OR, and NV.
Darya has negotiated sophisticated commercial transactions including business, asset, and share purchases and transfers, intellectual property assignments and licenses, corporate restructuring deals, business investments, commercial leases, and executive employment agreements and separations. Darya regularly advises start-ups on corporate formation and governance, and practices trademark and copyright prosecution.
Darya combines zealous representation with a business-savvy approach focused on maximizing client resources toward growth, allowing businesses to flourish, expand within their industries, and improve their operations.
While at Hofstra Law School, Darya was an Articles Editor at Hofstra’s highly esteemed Labor and Employment Law Journal and clerked for a New York Judge. Darya has been nominated as a New York Metro Rising Star by the New York Superlawyers Magazine and one of The Top Women Attorneys in New York by the New York Times Magazine since 2013. Darya emigrated from Ukraine as a child and was raised in New York; she is fluent in Russian.
